Role Summary:
GE Africa’s Early Career Development Program (ECDP) is a 12 month leadership program designed to give recent university/college graduates challenging work assignments, training and development, and exposure to leadership. The program combines hands on experience with formal classroom training to equip participants with the tools and knowledge to become leaders in GE.

Essential Responsibilities:
Demonstrate a good understanding to the business dynamics of the EQJV

Understanding the complexity of Contractual Service Agreement accounting.

Understanding the setup of the JV by accurately reporting Administrative Service Agreement and Minority Interest computations.

Accurate allocation and base cost splitting between Management Entities.

Ensure accurate and complete Financial reporting at period end

Efficiently aligning Contract Performance Managers and Global Operations Finance accountants to ensure accurate reporting of revenue and cost.

Accurate revenue recognition based on US GAAP rev rec policy.

Accurate allocation of direct costs and base cost splitting between Management entities

Accurately tying out of DI Template, DR4, and cost tracker at all times.

Efficient closure of financial books at the end of each period.

Controllership Support

Support Account reconciliation process for Oil and Gas business across the Sub Saharan Africa region by reconciling accounts and driving closure of open items at the end of each period.

Standardize framework for efficient financial closure at the end of each period.

Learn the Standard Operating Procedures for EGJV and Congo Transactional business and identify process improvement and simplification opportunities

Finance / Economic Bachelor’s Degree or similar

0 – 2 years’ experience.

Proficiency in computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite products

Desired Characteristics:
Strong attention to detail ensuring timely follow-up and closure.

Clear, concise and articulate communication skills – verbal, written and listening.

Able to take on ad-hoc assignments and work flexible hours as required.

Ability to handle business sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity.

Good organizational and efficiency skills;

Experience working within a very busy environment where deadlines are clearly defined and must be met.

Ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations
